Diplomat Long Term is extendable with the following rules:
- Minimum initial purchase duration: 3 Months
- Maximum extended duration: 3 Years
- Extension fee: $10
When you purchase or extend coverage for 3 months or more, Global Underwriters will continue to send extension notices so you can further extend your coverage. If you purchase or extend coverage for only 1 or 2 months, Global Underwriters will assume that you no longer need coverage and will not send additional extension notices.
NOTE: This is an extension of the policy and NOT a new policy. That means that if something happens in the previous policy period, it will not be considered a pre-existing condition. While if you take a new policy, it will be considered a pre-existing condition. Thus, the ability to extend is a big advantage.
All extension fees, if any, are charged by the insurance company. There are no additional fees (or any other fees) charged by your agent.
